Are your pets virus-free?

Canine distemper virus (CDV) affects a canine’s respiratory, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and central nervous systems, as well as the conjunctival membranes of the eye.

Canine parvovirus (CPV) is a highly contagious viral disease that can produce a life-threatening illness. The virus attacks rapidly dividing cells in a dog’s body, most severely affecting the intestinal tract. Parvovirus also attacks the white blood cells, and when young animals are infected, the virus can damage the heart muscle and cause lifelong cardiac problems.

FPV: Feline parvovirus is the virus that causes feline panleukopenia. This disease is quite serious, and if left untreated it can end your cat's life in a short time. It can affect cats of all ages, and it's highly contagiousThe virus spreads rapidly and must be immediately treated as soon as it’s discovered.

Check your pets at home with WagHealth™

Precautions

1. Once the test card is unsealed, it is recommended to use it within 5 minutes.

2. If the seal is damaged, the detection card may be invalid, please do not use it.

3. All samples are potentially infectious, pay attention to prevent cross-infection.

Tips

1. In order not to affect the accuracy of the test paper, please do not take injections and medicines 24 hours before using the test paper for testing!

2. If the dog has just been vaccinated, it is recommended to do the test one week after the vaccine is given. Most vaccines are weakly positive, and there may be a weak positive after testing.

3. The testing process is simple. At the same time, we are equipped with detailed instructions. We have detailed instructions on measurement, testing methods, sample requirements, results from judgment, storage conditions, etc.!

FAQ

How Do Dogs Get Canine Distemper?
- The virus is passed from dog to dog through direct contact with fresh urine, blood, or saliva. Sneezing, coughing, and sharing food and water bowls are all possible ways for the virus to be passed on.

Why do I need this Test?
- Whilst there is currently no available medication that can destroy the virus that causes canine distemper, the virus spreads rapidly and must be aggressively treated as soon as it is discovered. Vets can offer intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration and antibiotics to ward off secondary infections while the infected dog builds up his immune response. Some dogs are able to survive the infection, while for others canine distemper can be fatal so early diagnosis and treatment are essential.

How do I perform the Test?
- It is very simple – just use the enclosed cotton swab to obtain a nasal sample, mix it with the test solution and then add 3 drops to the test cassette. You will then be able to read the results after 5 minutes. A positive or negative result is indicated by 2 or only 1 line in the test window respectively.

What should I do if I get a positive result?
- You must see your Vet immediately so that he/she can start treatment ASAP.

Disclaimer: The test result from the test kit is just a preliminary result. It is still best to consult your vet immediately once symptoms have been identified. Do not rely solely on the result from the test kit.

Money Saver

Have used these several times now and one time results were confirmed later with a test at the vet. At this cost, so much money is saved at the vet and sometimes it's the weekend and no vet is open and you just have to know what you are dealing with in a new kitten with diarrhea and these can just be on hand for when needed. If used according to instructions have had very little problems using these tests.

Very useful

I do rescue and these are super helpful. Anytime a new kitty acts off we double-check to be safe since FPV raised its ugly head in TN last year.

Accurate when directions are followed

We, unfortunately, came into contact with FPV from a spay and neuter shelter. We've been losing a lot of kittens, so I decided to get this kit to easily monitor and test my other quarantined cats. Waffles has a positive result but newly vaccinated, with no symptoms. The other 2 were negative, with no symptoms. They do work! Follow instructions to a tee. We used both rectal and fecal methods, and both worked.

Great idea!

We donated these testing kits to a cat rescue that was helping with a hoarding situation. They requested these kits and we helped the rescue by donating these kits.
