So far, I really like this product. They are very transparent and a BIG upgrade from the red towels I used to protect my sofa arms from my cat before.
I found this product really easy to install, and much stickier than expected - I haven't even needed the pins to secure it yet! That could change with wear, but they provided plenty so I'm not worried about it. I should also note that while the sheets are sticky, it's not the kind of sticky that will leave a residue if/whenever removed.
For me, the only drawback of this product is that it buckled a bit during application in some areas, leaving some areas a little puckered (see pic). It's also a bit shiny, but it's plastic so that's expected.
Great quality. Total couch-saver. Highly recommend.
So I actually never intended to use this to prevent my cats from scratching. I trained that out of them a long time ago. My younger cat is sensitive to everything. She’s been to the vet and is on meds and had been tested and turns out she’s just a ****head who likes to spray her mommy’s very expensive couch! After using countless sprays and detergents she would always return to my couch and if she couldn’t get to that spot (I had blocked my entire couch off from the spots she was spraying) she would go to a new spot she hadn’t sprayed before! Ugh. My husband and I were both livid. The ONLY thing that ever stopped her was either plastic wrap or tin foil. I had been looking for some sort of plastic protector for the bottom half of my couch for about a month and came across this product! I only bought one set In the chance it didn’t work. And oh my gosh! It was perfect! Exactly what I wanted! It has enough adhesion that it holds itself in place till I got the pins in but not to much that it hurt my couch. It’s flexible enough to go around corners and they come in large sheets so I cut them in half to make it go further.
I used to have the double-sided sticky tape on there, but with a long-haired cat, it got GROSS FAST. These are great. Easy to install. Some of the screws broke on me, but they gave me plenty. Sure they look goofy on a couch but welcome to cat life. 🤣 Better goofy than shredded.
I had to replace two chairs as my cats literally clawed them to death. I was determined to not let this happen again, as this gets expensive and I'm not going to declaw my cats. I've had the new chairs and this product on them for over two months. So far, they have worked great with no sign of deteriorating. Easy to install, just takes time to do it right. It adheres to the fabric but you really do need the fabric pins as, depending on the chair, you challenge the adhesion every time you sit in the chair (my case). Good amount of product is provided. The cats won't touch it but they are smart in finding places that it is not! I've had to add product as I catch them doing this. I'm committed to winning the war with these chairs!
UPDATE: Three week’s later, the cat has not scratched at all on my faux leather couches or recliner. If I had bought these sooner, I could have saved a $1200 leather living room set. These absolutely work.
I filled the cat claw holes on my faux leather couches and recliner with a vinyl repair kit, and when the product dried, I applied the scratch guards. They were easy enough to apply with the corkscrew pins, and the cat hasn’t gone near the furniture edges in hours. So far, so good.
Let me start by saying these corner covers have saved my new sectional and my sanity. My cats do not Bother with them at all ! They leave my couch alone and I never thought I would say that. There is one flaw but by no means would I take a star off for it , the pins that hold the clear corner protects come loose a little but not to the point where the corner protectors have ever fell off, when I notice this I just simply twist them back in tighter this is not a problem for me at all. I also checked with one pin first if it was going to damage my couch and there was absolutely NO mark on my couch when I took it out. Btw I am not sponsored or anything , just simply love this product lol.
We have beautiful vintage armchairs and we also have 4 naughty cats. Unfortunately our Arm chairs seem to be choice scratching posts for our cats. I’ve tried water bottle deterrent training, covering the chair with throw blankets, orange essential oil-soaked paper towels, sticky paws tape, and regardless the darn cats still come back to the chairs.
We love the original fabric and want to enjoy the appearance of the chairs without adding the unattractive metal corner guards I’d found suggested by other animal owners. Thought I’d take a chance on these scratch guards and am pleasantly surprised! The plastic is substantial and the pins are sturdy. They were easy to apply to the fabric and mold to the form without puckering or gapping. They don’t act as a deterrent to the annoying behavior, but they do a great job at protecting our chairs from naughty cat claws. Would recommend!
